Self-Awareness: Can you really know yourself or people in your life?

The Pick of Personality

No one can truly know someone, no one can even know himself or herself. This is a controversion statement in modern days full of self-help gurus and emotional intelligence coaches all around us. A person is more than what he does, what he says, what he knows, what he wants, or what he thinks. You could do whatever you want to do with your life, including taking your life, but you will never ever comprehend 100% who you are; not until you achieve the highest pick of your own personality. You might ask how one gets to the pick of his personality? It's hard and almost impossible because there is only one way to arrive there: pass through all the experiences of life. The experiences that I'm referring to include emotional, physical, and psychological. 

All life experiences or life lessons, as I like to call them, that you know exist in the world, you should live them in your lifetime to be able to achieve the highest self-awareness. No meditation, no yoga or self-help classes can reveal to you who you or others really are unless you have completed the ultimate road to the personality pick.

People who want to achieve the pick of their personality can practice on the exposition road where a person willingly goes through as many life experiences they could. I didn't say all experiences because so few people in recent centuries have accomplished that. We know too much to go through them all. With the modern information technology development: radio, TVs, Internet, Phones, etc. it is hardly feasible to go through all the experiences that the World has to offer.

Our ancestors could easily reach the pick of their personalities because, with limited knowledge, they could live all kinds of lives that they knew exists. Hence, they could control and subconsciously record who they're in times of happiness, sadness, love, anger, hunger, abundance, lack, and conflict. They could know who they're when faced with the danger of death from war, different natural disasters, an epidemic disease without a cure, and/or from a wild beast. They have been condemned by their Kings and forgiven by the same Kings, they fled and come back to their countries; they were given titles and stripped of them in a very short time; they birthed many children and lost many; they loved and not loved. They've known all kinds of suffering that they knew to exist and all the happiness that was there to be had.

Now see who we had become: know-alls and lived-nothings pieces of whinny meats. We pride ourselves to live in the most modern, most advanced, most prosperous era that the world has ever known, but we can't figure out who we are really are. Some of us think science and technology can solve all our problems; others are even in the dark, with all knowledge that is out there, they still think God-hand is in everything they live through. The people around us are strangers than they ever have been, and when a small glimpse of the truth about people that the society thought it knew is revealed; the world flicks out. The front pages of news outlets are full of new revelations:  Pedophile celebrities, corrupt politicians, homophobic and bigot leaders, heartless mothers, mass shooters, rampant rates of suicides, etc. However, so little attention is paid to heroic acts done by random people; the no-ones.

How can you blame or not blame anyone? How are we to judge others and know what is right or wrong? In the past, people didn't need much to live their lives to the fullest or to go through all the experiences that were there to be lived. The life coincidences could take someone from a noble and a powerful family through hell and back to the top in no time. The rich, according to the given time standards, did not have to self-indulge into poverty or pain to know how the poor, homeless, and helpless person feel. A simple plague or angry King could take all in a matter of minutes, and the noble could be living the life of the poorest person s/he have ever heard of. We have plenty of examples of people who left everything behind to live a simple and poor life - Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha), St Alfred, etc; they knew what love, wealth, power, and dignity is and lived their lives in humility, poverty, and serenity. How are you supposed to know yourself if you have never had power over millions of lives, never been loved for who you really are, never loved unconditionally, never had everything you needed, never lost everything you have, etc? If you read Bible, one person should be your example: Job, as someone who advanced far; however, we can't know if he reached the pick as we can't tell what he knew back then.

Now try to start this road to personality pick and see how difficult it is with all the shit you have read in books and newspapers, with all the clap fed into your mind from the internet, and all the lies implanted in your head by your parents, so-called friends, teachers, preachers, and teachers of all sort. Imagine if you were to have everything you have ever wanted,  would you still the same person? What if you lose all you have now? What if you get the money, the car, the love of your life, the happiness as you define it, all the material things and emotional wishes come true; would you still the same person? What about the people you think you know so well; would they still be the same? Would you recognize them anymore? What about your wife/husband? What about your children? What about your whole family? What about your beloved car and/or house? What about your precious country and the love for your favorite sports team? Do you feel strongly about them to choose them over and over in different circumstances? What if…?
